Atonement

This movie won the Best Motion Picture in Golden Globes and has 7 Oscar nominations.  I went to watch this film with a friend last week.

It's from the point of view of an author called Briony Tallis and she accused her elder's sister's boyfriend, Robbie, of a crime that he did not commit.  At the end, Robbie was put in prison and later sent to be a soldier in the WWII.  Briony regretted for what she had done as she were not able to change the course of their lives.  Both Robbie and her sister died in this war  and she had no chance to apologise to them.  That's why she wrote a book to show her atonement.

In our lifetime, we might have done some wrong deeds and we do not forgive ourselves. Yet, we have to remember that the Lord is a forgiving Father and He will guide us through different trials!  and what we have to do is to have self-retrospection of our lives, turn away from our sins and pray to the Lord for forgiveness.  Only God knows if we are really sorry for what we have done.  And then, we will have no regrets!
