I joined the Facebook for almost 3 months.  At the beginning, I just thought this is another "Hi5" thing.  Later, I find that the most interesting part of it is the "search" function.  By using this function, you can keep in touch with some old friends who might have known you for ages!!

Actually, I did not use this function but I was "added" by numerous people through my hotmail account.  I got in touch with lots of "friends" such as my primary and secondary classmates, my university classmates, some brothers and sisters of my previous church, some of my friends and coursemates from the UK and even my Jazz dance teacher!!  Of course I was also invited by my family members!  Last but not least, I was invited by someone I don't know. If so, I will ask the "common friends" who they are!  If I can't find out their identity, I might "ignore" them.

Using the Facebook also has other advantages.  First, you can write on your friends' "Wall", "Funwall" or "Super Wall".  Once I got a pretty funny video and a friendly message from my friends,  I would just send them to the others immediately so that I can share the fun with them.  You can get a prompt response using this function.

Second, you can also send some wonderful gifts to your friends and family members to show your love for them like an ice-cream in the hot weather or a cup of tea when it's getting cooler.  I was also hugged, blessed, being waved at or even kissed by my friends! 

Besides, there are different applications for you to play with your friends like Superlatives, Rock Paper Scissors, Vampires, Zombies, My Room and so on.... you name it. 

Being an introvert who has a taciturn character like me, I still enjoy using the "message" function.  It's more like an email or yahoo messenger and I can chat with them on something more personal or tell them what happened to me recently. 

Well, I am not sure if this "Facebook" trend can last for how long, I will keep using it to contact all my old friends at least for the present moment.  Who knows what other new ideas might come up in the near future!  Anyway, I think the one who created the Facebook must be a smart person!

葛福臨佈道大會

各位友好﹐我將會參與星期六下午七時三十分的聚會。若你有興趣﹐請告訴我﹗願神的福氣臨到你身上﹗

九種型格九種愛

我參加了由葉萬壽先生主講的課程﹐題目是九型性格與兩性相處。久仰葉先生大名﹐我現在明白為何他的課程大受好評。

我是一個很重視個人成長的人﹐參與此課程讓我更了解自己。記得梁牧師說過若我們認識自己﹐才能認識神(約翰加爾文)。而當我再一次做九型人格測驗時﹐我很仔細地回想十多歲時候的自己所作的決定或反應。

最後﹐我仍然是屬於二號的﹐和上一次一樣。但我發現我所選擇的答案與上一次的有很大的分別。上一次我是以我當時的心境回答那些問題的﹐但今次我要回想自己在十六歲或以前的反應﹐有時真的很困難﹐因為我的記性有限。原來這樣我們才能找回原本的自己﹐我的答案有很大的分別是因為後天改變了我的性格。當人要面對逆境或開始工作後﹐性格也可能因某些因素而改變。

二號的優點是﹕為人充滿關懷﹐常常慷慨助人﹐樂于主動助人﹐不計較。但二號的缺點是﹕驕傲﹐他們不容易承認自己的需要或痛苦。我也發現自己有時候為了幫助別人而迷失了自己。

至於二號的愛情觀﹐他/她會一切以對方為主﹐除了細心照顧﹐無微不至地滿足對方外地也會改變自己去融入對方的生活或喜好﹐因而失去了原來的性格。(哈哈﹗我想我沒有這樣偉大呀﹗﹗)

健康的二號是懂得留下一點空間給自己﹐例如獨個兒到沙灘走走﹐或放下所有的東西﹐休息一下。(我想我要試一試﹗)

道道剛剛三歲了﹗以上這幅甲蟲畫是他的作品﹐他畫的時候還未夠三歲。他眾多作品裡﹐我最喜歡這一幅﹐因為我小時候也很喜歡畫甲蟲的。還記得我小學六年級的時候﹐畫了一幅很多甲蟲的畫﹐老師還將那幅畫貼在壁報板上。此外﹐我覺得這幅甲蟲畫畫得栩栩如生﹐而甲蟲的造型也很可愛﹗

I am glad to have attended Daphne and Eaton's wedding!  I prayed for their weddding ceremony and their marriage for many times!! Both of them are my dearest friends when I attended NPBC.  May the Lord bless this new family.  Daphne is so elegant and Eaton is so handsome!!

It's funny as they walked along the aisle by themselves!  That means Daphne did not walk in with her father.  When I asked her this question, she said she's a feminist and she likes to make changes!  Eaton behaved like a gentleman all the way through (and actually he just behaves as usual)!

I went to the Union Church with my Mom and my sister.  I welcomed all the guests at the reception.  Audrey dropped by.  After the ceremony, we went to Repulse Bay hotel to have a semi-buffet!  The food was very tasty and we were all full when we went home!  I did have a good time chatting with all my friends, like Chung and Szeto!!  Sophina is going to give birth to a baby two months later.  Amy said she's using the Facebook!  Ying was happy after she started a new job.  I was happy meeting many Andrewians!! Once again, may the Lord bless Daphne and Eaton and all the people I met today!

The movie, Da Vinci Code, was directed by Ron Howard.  I was attracted by the book first as it was written by Dan Brown.  I enjoy reading Dan Brown’s books as he is diligent in doing a lot of research before writing his books.

In the Da Vinci Code, Dan Brown tells the story of the modern day quest for the Holy Grail.  The Grail itself is the secret bloodline of Jesus Christ, who married Mary Magdalene.  It is a secret the church has been suppressing for 2000 years and it is still trying to actively destroy it.  It involves a real secret society called the Priory of Sion which was founded by the descendants of Jesus. The members of this organisation include Sir Isaac Newton and Leonardo Da Vinci.  They are dedicated to preserving the Grail that they possess to this very day.

In the story, Robert Langdon, a Harvard Symbologist, meets a gifted French Cryptologist, Sophie Neveu.  They go through different areas like Paris and London in search of the Holy Grail.  The plot is intricate and it contains several climaxes which are thrilling to the audience.  There are several twists in the story when the two main characters decipher the codes one by one but the director tries to delete or simplify some of them like the first code of the cryptex, which is “ SOFIA ”.  It is disappointing to the readers of this book because what they enjoy most is being removed.  Maybe because of the time limit, the director needs to focus more on the explanation of the secret of the Holy Grail.

Though I like the book more than the movie, I think the director succeeded in three areas.  First, the casts of the movie are well selected like Sophie Neveu and the albino monk, Silas.  In my mind, Sophie is a smart and elegant lady who possesses a French accent when she speaks English and the actress, Audrey Tautou, plays aptly in this role.  The albino is violent and cynical in the book and the actor, Paul Bettany, also works very hard on his facial expression in representing this character.

Second, the director tries to explain the secret using the prestigious drawing of Da Vinci, the Last Supper.  In the movie, Sir Leigh Teabing uses the computer to illustrate the shape of “V” in the portrait vividly to elucidate the relationship between Jesus and Mary Magdalene which cannot be done clearly by reading the novel.

Third, the director follows the plot accurately according to the novel.  Ron Howard tried to shoot the film at the real places where the book is set like the Louvre Museum .  The real paintings of Da Vinci are also used like Mona Lisa, the Last Supper and the Vitruvius Pollio.

As a Christian myself, I just treat Da Vinci Code as an imaginary novel which is thrilling, pulse-quickening and brain-teasing. I still firmly believe that Jesus Christ remained single all his life as recorded in the Bible.  I highly recommend this book or movie to you because of the intricate plot but not because of the “secret” behind. Once I asked a student about her opinion of this film and she said that she believed what’s said in the movie like Jesus did marry Mary Magdalene and there are descendants of Jesus and so on.  I was shocked at that time and I will keep praying for her and hope that one day she will believe in the Lord.

花兒朵朵

看過翠兒的blog後﹐也想分享一下我的作品。記得我數年前對插花很有興趣﹐於是參加了插花班﹐學習基本的插花方法。之後我在假期或有客到訪我家的時候﹐便很有心思地插一盤花。我的媽媽很支持我﹐因她最喜歡花兒和蝴蝶等的東西。我爸爸卻說這是一門附庸風雅的藝術。

還記得有一位弟兄問我﹐那盤花是真的還是假的﹗我叫他猜一猜﹐他說他猜那是假花﹐因為那些花的顏色太亮麗了﹐而其它人也說那是假的。於是我請他們看看幾朵玫瑰上的水珠﹐他們才恍然大悟﹗

若我知道有花卉展覽﹐我也會出席﹐然後拍照﹐希望學習不同的插花方法。若我到外地旅遊﹐我會到書局購買關於插花的書籍。插花這門藝術讓我很有滿足感﹐亦讓我有機會欣賞神奇妙的創造﹐我是指所有顏色燦爛奪目的花兒。

幾天前有機會紮一花束﹐希望這花束能散發它的魅力﹐幫助需要它的人﹗
