Chapter 6

I had a chance to attend a live concert sung by Chapter 6 two days ago.  Chapter 6 is a professional "a cappella" singing group from Illinois, USA. 

So, what is "a cappella".  I just learnt it from a good friend.  It means a type of vocal music without using any instruments!  They just use their vocal chords to sing. One famous song for "a cappella" is "Stand by Me".

Of course, Chapter 6 comprises six members (all male) plus one (the sound engineer).  Each one of them has a role to play, like the Baritone, the Tenor and the Bass.  Everytime, they sing together in harmony.  They sing different kinds of songs ranging from some golden oldies, pop/jazz  to hymns and even a six-minute verson of "The Wizard of Oz".  They received numerous awards for their performance.

I was impressed by the first song sung by them, that is "What a Wonderful World".  Other nice songs include "How Deep is your Love" and "Sweet, Sweet Spirit" are also very fantastic!  All of them are very humorous too!

I remembered I also participated in a Talent Quest (A singing contest) in my secondary school when I was a Form 6 student.  We sang a song called "For the Longest Time" and it's also a song for "a cappella"! hee hee!
